Some have asked us where we served in the Peace Corps and what it was like. It is possible that the country will be lost forever due to global warming.
This is a well-done video about Kiribati and the crisis it faces, produced by PBS:

Ten on Tuesday - ok, Wednesday
OK, due to mounting pressure from my devoted followers, I'm posting something new. A miracle, I know.
1) Life for the Larsons is exciting and unpredictable right now. 2009 is going to be interesting. We're not sure where these next steps are taking us but we're going to embrace it. Enough said.
2) The kids are a hoot. Meg is 16 months and took her first steps last week. She loves her dada more than anyone else and is a very strong-willed, loud, demanding, but precious baby. She wakes every morning at 5:30 and is saying all kinds of things - bath, book, baby, more, dog, neigh, sock, and of course, Stella.
3) Stella loves preschool and playing with her baby sister. She is very much a little mama and tells her what to do constantly. "Don't throw food on the floor, Meggie." "No Meggie, don't play in the toilet." "Stop drawing on the walls, Meggies!" You get the drift.
4) Best friend Brittain and I took the girls to the Grove Park Inn for the Annual Gingerbread House competition. Actually, the competition was held a few weeks ago but the houses are still up for viewing. These things are works of art! I couldn't believe how beautiful they were.
5)We're headed to Alabama next week for the Christmas holidays. Looking very forward to some R & R and having family spend time with (ahem, take care of while I do nothing) my children.
6) I've been swimming laps a few times a week and am really really enjoying it. I've worked up to 30 lengths, which is almost a half mile swim. My goal is to be able to swim a mile without stopping.
7) This is why I don't post on the blog often, people. I have nothing interesting to say.
8) Except this, I just realized that today marks 2 years to the day that we found out we were pregnant with Meg. I remember we had checked out a church that Sunday morning and were on our way home when I told Eric to stop at the store and let me get a pregnancy test...and we rushed home, took it, and there on that Sunday afternoon I got final confirmation (I was pretty sure what it would say) that little bit was on her way.
9) What is your favorite junk food? I mean, no holds barred, nasty trans-fat out the wazoo junk food? I think mine are Ruffles Sour Cream and Cheddar potato chips.
10) Eric and I are off to bed. It's 8:01 pm. Such is our life.
Now stop hassling me, friends. I'll post again sometime in 2010.
