WNBA, here we come

Stella had her 3 year old well-kid doc visit today, and he predicts that this child will be 5'11'' when she's grown! She is in the 96th percentile in height, taller than most 4 year olds.

Now I know what Eric and I will live off of in our old age. Her professional basketball salary.

I hate to burst your retirement bubble...BUT I am 5'11" and the height alone is no guarantee that one also possesses the skill and coordination to be a great athlete. Heck, I'm lucky to make it from one side of the room to the other without tripping and falling on my face.

But how wonderful for Stella that she could be so tall someday. I highly recommend it for everyone. And with her beautiful face and a pair of long legs--you may not want her getting all banged up on a basketball court anyway. :)

Angela-

I have confidence that, with a little coaching, you will be able to DUNK someday. Maybe even complete an alley oop! Your kids would be so impressed.

If Stella isn't an athlete, maybe she'll be able to paint on really high canvases.

League minimum in the WNBA is only $32,400 for a rookie. You can't live large off that.

Keep her skinny so she can be a model!

OK OK everyone, just kidding about the retirement. We all know Stella's beauty AND brains are what will make us very rich, not her height necessarily. I don't think any daughter of mine could desire to enter the world of modeling - but I've been humbled before.
